Hm, it would appear to be not very repeatable at all. It seems that once it's started to happen it continues to happen (killing the *BBDB* or *Completions* buffer doesn't make it go away, it happens again the next time something tries to alter the *BBDB* buffer and the buffer already exists) but it doesn't start off giving this error - something sets it off a while into a session. -- Ian.
