Thanks for the tip, it worked for solaris as I have some "stty"
lines, but under linux, I don't have any and I'm still having
problems.
Under linux when I open a gzipped file, the file seems to be
gunzipped, but the text is gunzipped incorrectly and I get the
following error from gzip:
gzip: stdin: invalid compressed data--crc error
