I’m not about to debate German Sprachgefühl with a native speaker, but I can say that the sort of weirdness of word choice that gives ‘monitor’ for what other people interpret as ‘window’ is banal in English, and it’s a very Neudeutsch choice to resolve these questions by appeal to the (recently-established) meanings of English words ;-) . -- When I was in the scouts, the leader told me to pitch a tent.
