Jerry?
It couldn't be my fault. It must be gremlins.
Paul, I have a machine that identifies itself like this:
uname -a
SunOS [name elided] 5.8 Generic_108528-11 sun4u sparc
SUNW,Ultra-60
I configured with LDAP and module support. My compiler is:
gcc -v
Reading specs from
/usr/local/lib/gcc-lib/sparc-sun-solaris2.8/2.95.3/specs
gcc version 2.95.3 20010315 (release)
My ldap.h identifies itself thusly:
#pragma ident "(a)(#)ldap.h 1.16 99/10/21 SMI"
With that setup, it built (although with tons of warnings). I just ran
it and did an LDAP search on my local LDAP server. The module loaded
properly and the search worked. What problem did you have building with
LDAP and module support turned on? Please give the complete set of
options you specified with configure, as well.
The LDAP and module entanglement is definitely my fault. I applied a
patch on May 20 (post 21.5.13) to fix it. This fix will be in 21.5.14,
or if you need it you can just grab the patch and drop it on top of
21.5.13. I'd give you the URL for the patch, but
list-archive.xemacs.org doesn't seem to want to talk to me right now.
The subject line was "[AC21.5] Patch to build src before modules".
Thanks for your report.
