While working on an update to the Help mode I realized that we have
the enhanced Help mode called Hyper apropos with drop in replacements
for describe-variable and describe-function. What is the story? Why do
we need two such similar packages - why not merge whatever is good in
Help mode into Hyper apropos and make it one function instead?
I don't know if that's really feasible. This sounds to me like a hack
to maintain GNU call-compatibility in Help mode while providing the
advantages of Hyper-Apropos when called explicitly.
The kind of problem I imagine would involve packages that parse output
from Help mode where Hyper Apropos does something different, but there
might be other issues as well.
I would suggest updating Help mode to recent GNU and then trying to
merge our features in a second stage.
