XEmacs-specific stuff? Probably not, though you never really know.
I'm just wondering if I need to worry about face settings outside of
custom. I really don't think I want to encourage that, so I'm not going to
spend too much time on it. It looks like a pain to get a specific 'named'
style out of an rc file.
Generic stuff? Definitely -- that's how Gtk themes work. You
might look
into "ghost specifiers" for implementing that. For instance, XEmacs on
Windows is supposed to respect the user's system-wide color settings.
The generic stuff works great right now, but it could probably be much
better. I've tried it out with about 9 themes so far - pretty scary stuff.
I've still yet to figure out the dynamic style updating that some Gtk apps
and Gnome support. Seeing XEmacs use the 'Metal' motif is particulary
weird. Just wait until I get the pixmap loading working. :)
