I just updated my Debian system, which included a bunch of X11.7.0 X.org updates as well as glibc, and probably miscellaneous libraries too. It crashes on startup on X11. The first crashes I got were in the tabs code, but it now crashes without the tabs, and I've seen crashes in the specifier code. I've tried with and without union-type, too. It doesn't seem to be a gcc issue, although that's updated from 4.0 to 4.1 with this update, as I'd had no trouble with 4.0, and building with --with-compiler=gcc-4.0 doesn't help. I'm also getting similar crashes from old binaries. Starting with -nw seems to avoid the crash, so it's probably something X or maybe Xft related.
