Dear Bug Team!
I have a directory named "børn" (containin the danish character oslash).
Xemacs does not handle this directory correct.
If your POSIX locale is set correctly to reflect the encoding of the path
name--that is, the value for LC_CTYPE should end in UTF-8 when you type
“locale” at a command prompt--this problem should go away with a more
recent beta. 21.5.26 dates from February 2006; the most recent beta, 21.5.28
is from May 2007.
Stephen’s suggestion that you set file-name-coding-system to 'utf-8 won’t
work; file-name-coding-system is ignored. This should, though:
(define-coding-system-alias 'file-name 'utf-8)

more into contact with civilization, Dobrinton was bitten by a dog which was
assumed to be mad, though it may only have been indiscriminating. (Saki)
