Package updates are handled by volunteers, just like everything else in XEmacs. There has been no maintainer for that package since January 2003. Would you like to be in charge of the ruby modes? If so, send mail to cvs-manager(a)xemacs.org with an SSH key (preferably SSH2, but SSH1 is acceptable) and a preferred nickname. If nobody on the review board has an objection, we'll give you the necessary permission to update CVS. Actually making the packages is done by XEmacs staff; all you need to do is to keep the package up to date and keep an eye on the various related channels for ruby mode bug reports and new upstream releases.
