To eliminate any variations, I renamed ~/.vm, ran `xemacs -vanilla',
and typed `M-x vm-mail RET', and I still got it.
I get it too. It's a menu item provided by eudc. I believe the
offending code is this line in the function eudc-set-server:
(interactive "sDirectory Server: \nSProtocol: ")
Notice the `S' matching any symbol for the protocol field. A bit rude :-/
