Revert the /etc/ld.so.conf patch and do some runtime checking (AFAIK
this has been already proposed by somebody else).
Done. Jan requested an additional #ifdef DLOPEN in there, I can send
that as a patch now.
I tried to come up with a good configure-time test but don't know X much
at all, yet. Not to write a new application for configure to test,
anyway.[1]
I think that the runtime test is sufficient though.
