Doesn't bother me if the extra files are there, hard drive space is
cheap these days.
Execution speed matters more as it is seconds of life that are only
spent once.

It probably will happen, a little, but since most packages target GNU
Emacs first, it's going to happen anyway for that reason.
How do you feel about Sean's proposal to combine the SUMOs (xemacs +
mule)? As far as I can tell that shouldn't cause you any problems,
but it would mean extra baggage.
