The `if-boundp' macro should be used here (if available on Emacs),
since it avoids a compiler warning I believe.
It’s not available on GNU Emacs. They’ve modified the byte compiler to
understand (if (boundp ...)) and (if (fboundp ...)) when it comes to the
warnings, and Mike Sperber ported that change to XEmacs.
