Just for the record, this same thing happens with today's 66 beta and
new sumo tarball. FYI.

Hello,
I have built 21.0.65 on both Linux and Solaris 2.6. I am using sumo
tarball from 3/5/99. On both systems, executing M-x vm, or hitting my
mail button on the tool bar which was previously customized to vm,
results in an error in the message box. Error says:
Invalid function: (marco . #<compiled-function (&rest forms) "...(10)"
[let ((vm
qt which point it has paraded off the right end of the minibuffer and
I can't read any more of it.
Is there something I'm doing wrong? This happens with xemacs -q, as
well as when I'm being my usual self.
BTW, this begs a long standing question I've had. Is there a way to
capture all the messages that go to the minibuffer and retain them in
a buffer. I once (many years ago) used a multi buffer editor that had
a "messages" buffer which you could always flip to in order to review
any errors that had gone before. I've always wished I could have this
feature in Emacs too.
