I'm about to commit Ben's packages build changes. This means that after you run "cvs update", you will have to migrate your Local.rules to the new system. The changes are straightforward, diff the pre-changes version (CVS revision 1.15) of Local.rules.template to your Local.rules, and "port" the changes to the new one. See also the updated, improved INSTALL. I have tagged the packages tree before committing the changes with pre-pkg-build-changes (in progress as I write). There may be some glitches, testing and feedback, whether this works for you or not, is very much appreciated. Especially building from all different locations, ie. packages/, packages/(xemacs|mule)-packages/, and package-specific dirs would be useful. Another thing that needs testing is the html target, it should work with texi2html 1.56k and 1.64 now, try it out.
