Hmmn, I never tried this. I'll check.
not using multiple frames ?

Look at the gutter custom variables they should explain things. You can
only ever see buffers-tab-max-size tabs. Tabs are grouped and you should
see the group of the buffer you currently have selected.
yes i understood the concept of groups, but what i say is that when the
amount of 'java' files i'm visiting exceeds the amount of visible tabs,
i get several 'semi-groups' of 'java' files, like ... one with 4 files,
and a second with 2 files, and when i am seeing the one with 2 files,
and i click on one of the tweo gutters, i get the gutter pane with the 4
other gutters, but no current buffer change. when i click again i
switch back to the 2 files gutter, still no change of current file.
the only way to change file using the gutter, is to have all gutters
of one group fit in the gutter pane.
am i clear? sorry if my english is french.

The mswindows version does this. You could always suggest it to Ed Falk :)
ah, i understand better how you're using it, now :)
well, where does the widget come from then, if it is not a standard
in motif/whatever i'm currently using ?
i mean there could just be re-use of widget code, no?
