Since updating packages a week or so ago, whenever I visit a perl file, I get an error message that appears in the echo line that says: File mode specification error: (file-error "Cannot open load file" "cperl-mode") o The file's major-mode is text-mode, and it is not not fontified. o This is not the sort of error that produces a result caught by last-error, or is viewable by M-x describe-last-error, so there is no backtrace. o This happens also using xemacs --vanilla o cperl-mode seems to have disappeared from the tree entirely.
