The latest upstream Gnus, ie Oort Gnus 0.15, or the latest XEmacs
package Gnus, ie Gnus 5.8.8? I ask this because...
Sorry about that, I forgot about the upstream alpha (?) versions. I
meant the latest XEmacs package of Gnus.

...I can't reproduce this with:
Oort Gnus v0.15,
XEmacs 21.5 (beta10) "burdock" (+CVS-20030206) \
[Lucid] (i586-pc-linux, Mule) of Fri Feb 7 2003 on eicq
Well, that's a good sign then. I happily accept that it's probably
just me! I thought it was suspicious that it only started after
upgrading XEmacs to 21.5.10 and not really changing anything else.
RR> Load-Path Lisp Shadows:
RR> ----------------------
You might want to do something about all of these.
RR> (/usr/local/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/ps-print/ps-print
RR> /usr/local/lib/xemacs/xemacs-packages/lisp/ps-print-nomule/ps-print
The "ps-print-nomule" package is no more, it was replaced with
"ps-print". So remove it...
M-x package-get-delete-package RET ps-print-nomule RET
RR> /home/reid/emacs/
And I think if you *don't* include that directory in your load-path
you'll clear up the rest of your load-path shadowings.
Thanks for noticing those problems, I had no idea. I clearly have a
problem with cruft buildup.
RR> (gnus :version 1.64 :type regular)
I hope you're not trying to run Oort with this installed.
No.... Speaking of, though, I'm curious if Oort is reasonably safe to
use? I used to use development versions of Gnus all the time several
years ago, then development slowed for awhile or the releases just did
everything I needed. Terrible! I recently ran into a kludge to
disable w3m displaying HTML articles which I understand is now easier
with Oort, so I'm tempted....
Thanks for the help,
Reid
