Hello Ville, All! Today I built myself vc-0.05 from packages\unsupported\scop\vc\ Visiting RCS- or CVS-controlled files is not possible from dired, because I don't have the git program installed. Initially I visited a remote RCS-controlled file from my bookmarks buffer, which worked fine. When I tried M-x erevision on that file, the problem started to unravel. I was able to use this version of vc, once I put this into my proverbial .emacs file: ; (setq vc-handled-backends '(RCS CVS SVN SCCS Arch MCVS GIT)) ;; Without git program installed vc-0.05 causes major trouble on TANG ;; on 2006-08-13. (setq vc-handled-backends '(RCS CVS SVN SCCS Arch MCVS)) Ville, this should be easy to reproduce by temporarily renaming the git program so it won't be found. Best regards!
