Hello,
I see the latest sumo (and its tag in CVS) contains auctex 11.84 while CVS
HEAD has 11.55. Apparently 11.84 was at some point in HEAD, but reverted back
to 11.55 by Stephen in July with the comment "Sync auctex trunk back to
release 1.48." but no further info.
Which one is the version that should be distributed with the sumos and
packages collection at the moment? Uwe was surprised to hear that 11.84 is
in sumos, and the fact that CVS HEAD is at 11.55 and 11.84 is in a branch is
going to cause some surprises if 11.84 is the version that should be
distributed currently. If it's 11.84, I suggest moving that to CVS HEAD. If
11.55, perhaps we need new sumos soon.

auctex my self.
I got the impression though that there is some problem with a
conflicting package that is stopping the merge at the moment. I'm not
up to date with that issue. Hopefully Uwe can fill in the details.

That is a understatement, without your help it would have been
impossible. I am using auctex 11.84 on a daily base and have not found
any problem.

I do remember that you talked about a problem with info for auctex, but
I did not.
So I propose we move 11.84 (1.51) from pre to official.

I think this to a large extend was by fault. I thought 11.84 was ready
to release, committed it into the trunk (at not as a branch) and it broke
smoketest. Stephen than had to remove it from the trunk.

As I said in my earlier mail I think 11.84 should be moved in the the
official pkg release.

In my opinion the 11.84 branch should be merged into the trunk (and
maybe dropped afterwards), since it seems to work well enough. At
least I haven't seen much complaints (apart from the keyword stuff ;-)).
