what you did is correct. are you compiling with debug symbols? also maybe you
need to stop and continue a few times in order to get a good backtrace.

I've noticed this several times recently, and I'm on Irix. In fact, I was
going to send something asking how to debug something like this. I tried
starting gdb, attaching to the proc, and sending a SIGINT, but that didn't
seem to accomplish much (when it stopped it was pretty lost).
