True.  There are an awful lot of variables out there, but what I'm
hoping is that (for a while, at least) most people will concede that
for secondary controversies like this one, the best response is to add
it to the "all-the-possible-defaults-suck-for-someone" group, and
leave the default alone (or at best imperfect).  Eventually the list
will get too long, probably quickly, but then we can reorganize it.
It will never work for delete-key-deletes-forward and the like, of
course, but it could reduce the number of such controversies if there
was a single place you could go to find all the UI flamewars, and set
them to your liking.
