If doing it adds some value, why not :) But I doubt that; the script
could get even messier with Perl.

Cool. Do you currently have non-Mule XEmacsen to test the script with?
I don't (but will most likely build some soon), so it hasn't been tested
at all with them, and it will blindly try to build mule-packages too...
