OK, this could be a useful bug for Jeremy if it is triggered
reliably.
It's very reliable on my system. All I need to do is start XEmacs and
type (start-process "echo" "echo" "echo") LF in the
*scratch* buffer.
He is involved in a conversation on the x11-users [perhaps x11-dev?]
list with a few users who are finding CPU use to run up to 100%

Yup. I don't get 100% CPU use on a core duo :-), but it does sit

stuff and the server / starter). Also, I thought that he said the
macports builds would only be newer than the ones he rolls for
macosforge for those who are using OS X 10.4.
Dunno. I run the macosforge server currently on Leopard, but I don't
really notice a difference in anything there.
But none of this is relevant. The bug I'm looking at is in
XtAppPending and/or _XtWaitForSomething, in NextEvent.c in libXt. You
(or more likely Jeremy) can look at the trace in the bug I posted to
X.org Bugzilla.
