When I upped from 2.4.0-test7 to 2.4.0-test11, lotsa things stopped
working right. Coda (distributed file system ) is definitely much
more unstable under the new kernel.
I tried 2.4.0-test11, but it would detect my CardBus ethernet card so
I dropped back to test10.
It may not be the kernel; I also updated glibc from 2.1.96 to 2.2 at
the same time (Debian unstable).
And XFree86 from 3.3.6 to 4.0.1, which has definitely increased
instability in X apps (including XEmacs running remotely and
displaying on the 4.0.1 server). (But that should have noting to do
with Coda.)
You wouldn't happen to be doing any of those poisonous things while
running a very green kernel, would you?
No. I mostly just update the kernel.
glibc 2.1.3
XFree86 3.3.6
