With this patch I still see the problem.
I can reproduce the problem with
put into M-x compilation-minor-mode
by executing
C-x ` (next-error)
I use
(setq compilation-error-regexp-systems-list 'all)
and get following

NB: MFT of original is broken. I repaired it manually.
This patch has been committed.
I forgot to mention in the original post that this patch may also be of use
for 21.4
