I believe that at least one bug that manifested this way has been
fixed since the release of 21.4.10. The current patchlevel is
21.4.17; I strongly suggest you upgrade.
Building with debug symbols and configure's --debug flag on are
strongly recommended, because this will allow you to send us useful
stacktraces in the event of future problems.
