in the past, i used to have core fils all around my disk, then came
ulimit, and now
% ulimit -c 3000000
bash: ulimit: core file size: cannot modify limit: Operation not permitted
%
please, can someone come up with a recipe to enable core dumps on
linux debian unstable?
ok, the number is in megabytes, and 3000000 mega are too
much... ulimit -c 1024 is OK
what happens now is interesting, with core dumps enabled xemacs
doesn't die anymore, ehm, not completely
it just stops working (htop says 0.0% CPU), doesn't respond to events,
doesn't redraw its windows, but more important DOES NOT DUMP CORE
after waiting for about five minutes i gave up and killed it, no core
to run gdb upon, so i can't tell you anything more, sorry
maybe this is another bug?
ciao, buona domenica a tutti
