Minor enhancement comment:
If ~/.gnupg/gpg.conf file exists, you should scan it (once only)
for the appropriate options, and, if the auto-key-retrieve option does
not exist, ask the user if he (1) would like it automatically added (as
well as another question to ask if he'd like the x-hkp setting to also
be automatically added), or (2) would like to edit that file himself
(and then bring it up in a buffer).
