It's probably not a problem with daikon per se, it's a problem that XEmacs follows the X standards for pre-XKBD keymapping, and SuSE's X servers don't. SuSE's XEmacsen undoubtedly have a patch to work around this. It may have been submitted (SuSE's pretty good about that), or they may have judged that it's too much of a hack to submit. You could check the xemacs-patches archives.
