I think this has been reported before. It's probably not a problem
with daikon per se, it's a problem that XEmacs follows the X standards
for pre-XKBD keymapping, and SuSE's X servers don't. SuSE's XEmacsen
undoubtedly have a patch to work around this. It may have been
submitted (SuSE's pretty good about that), or they may have judged
that it's too much of a hack to submit. You could check the
xemacs-patches archives.
I had a discussion with the author of the XKBD support in XFree86 (not
a SuSE employee IIRC), and his attitude was "nobody follows standards,
so we have to cater to nobodies."
