That's right. You are almost certainly using CC Mode, which has its
own info docs, C-h i d m "CC Mode" RET. The C mode that is documented
in the XEmacs manual is the older one distributed in the prog-modes
package as old-c-mode.el. It is also the one distributed with GNU
Emacs until at least 20.7, although it looks like 21.1 switched to CC
Mode.
It's not clear what to do about this. Both modes have their fans.
People are used to finding the old documentation where it is.
Really, this part of the manual needs thorough reorganization
(tex-mode is in exactly the same situation with two competing modes,
ditto SGML, I believe Perl has two, etc), moving the nodes for the
less popular versions into a separate manual for prog-modes. Pointers
will have to be left for people familiar with the old layout. Etc.
