Compiling

I'm not sure whether this is a repeated post (although I doubt that anyone would be as much a linux idiot as me) but I've tried searching for a similar thread on the website but couldn't find one. anyway, here's the problem i'm facing. I am trying to install xemacs onto my machine (which is running on Windows ME) using cygwin. i followed the instructions so far and by and large, there has been no problems. However, I was unable to configure the system/file. i typed this in the xemacs-21.1.14 dir using cygwin (B20): ./configure --with-xll --with-gcc --with-menubars=lucid --with-scrollbars=lucid --with-sound=native or ./configure --with-xll --with-gcc --with-menubars=lucid --with-scrollbars=lucid --with-sound=native;make Neither of them worked. May I know what is wrong here? eric
