your XEmacs has no debugging symbols, and ends in the memory
management routines, which may or may not be responsible for the
problems.
If you built it yourself, you can help us a lot by rebuilding it with
debugging enabled; this makes the xemacs binary quite a bit larger on
disk but does not affect size or speed at runtime. If it's a distro-
supplied binary, all is not lost. Most distros now provide -debug
versions of their packages, which include either debug builds or
symbol tables that can be used to produce much more useful backtraces.
