Is the server up? That's what I see when the local NNTP server is
refusing connections or is down.
I've noticed an oddity with reconnecting to the NNTP server after
timeout that is new with Gnus-5.6.10. I suspect a bug in Gnus.
even from doing an xemacs -nw -vanilla
and having compiled gnus with this version of xemacs...
