Eventually the Hg repo does get copied, but that's not guaranteed for
eternity (and I think Mike wants to stop supporting it anyway). You
probably should take some time to convert to Hg at some point. It's
just so much nicer for local operations.
On the other hand, if you just filled in entries as you said, all I
need to do is add "Cyrillic", "??" on my local sources. (What do I
put for "??". "ru"?) Anything else I need?
As you suggest, you need to change the entry
{&Vcyrillic_iso8859_5, NULN, NULL},
to
{&Vcyrillic_iso8859_5, "Russian", "ru"},
