Yes. (1) Pulling packages back into core is not going to happen if I
have anything to say about it. Ben's adventures in that area with one
or two libraries have sucked. See my response to Richard for why this
is a terrible idea in general. (2) Who's going to do the work? It
was a huge amount of work taking man-years to unbundle the packages.
Doing the reverse probably is much less work, but there's still a lot
of work to be done.
The system we have is workable.
It will go from the screen lacking new users/developers if you don't
change the course.
It can be improved incrementally, I
agree, but I have more important things to do.
