This bug report will be sent to the XEmacs Development Team,
not to your local site managers!!
Please write in English, because the XEmacs maintainers do not have
translators to read other languages for them.
Please describe as succinctly as possible:
- What happened.
- What you thought should have happened.
- Precisely what you were doing at the time.
Please also include any C or lisp back-traces that you may have.

Dear Bug Team!
(Don't know how my mail address will look like - theres no `From' the
way this mail looks right now - but you can reach me as
"bjorn.wiren(a)ericsson.com", alternatively "etxbwir(a)etxb.ericsson.se")
Most about anything I do under the "Tools->Directory Search" crashes
xemacs. For example, when selecting "Get Email" xemacs crashes after I
enter a name in the minibuffer and hit return.
Selecting "Query with Form" doesn't lead to a crash, instead "Stack
overflow in copy-tree" after submission. When I tried to repeat that
after doing "toggle-debug-on-error", I *did* get a crash.
I tried a number of variants, e. g. starting with -vanilla, using
21.4.1 built with gcc without optimisation (this 21.4.4 is built with
SUNWspro/5.0/bin/cc and "-O"), but the behaviour was identical for all
cases.
Here's the eudc config from ".emacs" - I haven't done the migration:
'(ldap-host-parameters-alist (quote (("ldap.al.sw.ericsson.se" base
"o=ericsson"))))
I was not able to locate a core dump anywhere, but down below is what I got
in the window where xemacs was started.
Please don't hesitate to contact me for additional info, I'd really
love to get this working.
Cheers

Printout after crash:
Fatal error (10).
Your files have been auto-saved.
Use `M-x recover-session' to recover them.
If you have access to the PROBLEMS file that came with your
version of XEmacs, please check to see if your crash is described
there, as there may be a workaround available.
Otherwise, please report this bug by running the send-pr
script included with XEmacs, or selecting `Send Bug Report'
from the help menu.
As a last resort send ordinary email to `crashes(a)xemacs.org'.
*MAKE SURE* to include the information in the command
M-x describe-installation.
If at all possible, *please* try to obtain a C stack backtrace;
it will help us immensely in determining what went wrong.
To do this, locate the core file that was produced as a result
of this crash (it's usually called `core' and is located in the
directory in which you started the editor, or maybe in your home
directory), and type
gdb /home/etxbwir/xemacs/21.4.4/bin/xemacs core
then type `where' when the debugger prompt comes up.
(If you don't have GDB on your system, you might have DBX,
or XDB, or SDB. A similar procedure should work for all of
these. Ask your system administrator if you need more help.)
Lisp backtrace follows:
ldap-open("ldap.al.sw.ericsson.se" (base "o=ericsson"))
# bind (host-plist ldap result withdn attrsonly attributes host filter)
ldap-search-entries("(&(sn=Wiren))" "ldap.al.sw.ericsson.se"
("mail"))
apply(ldap-search-entries "(&(sn=Wiren))"
("ldap.al.sw.ericsson.se" ("mail")))
# bind (args arg1)
ldap-search("(&(sn=Wiren))" "ldap.al.sw.ericsson.se"
("mail"))
# bind (return-attrs query)
eudc-ldap-simple-query-internal(((sn . "Wiren")) (mail))
# bind (return-attributes query)
eudc-query(((name . "Wiren")) (email))
# bind (name)

# bind (command-debug-status)
