Microsoft _still_ does not do true internationalization. They localize for regional customs, but all of their "internationalization" is done effectively with LC_ALL=BORGTOWN. We do not want to emulate that. UI they do pretty well, considering they're constrained to one-size-fits-all. I hope we can do better in providing variety, but emulating their UI as one option gives us a pretty good base.
