Beta40-pre3 (Developers please synch with this)

As we move into the final 48 hours before feature freeze, I've uploaded a beta40-pre3. http://cvs.xemacs.org/ ftp://ftp.xemacs.org/pub/xemacs/beta/testing/ There are a lot of tiny changes even from pre2, so if you're making patches against the core please synch against this as the latest patches are starting to step on each other. It has all of the core patches submitted to xemacs-patches except for the C++ compilability patch. I haven't built this yet (I wanted to get the source code out quickly)[1]. I'll be running my usual tests over the next few hours. A reconfigure with `./config.status --recheck' is recommended. Good luck.
