Has anyone else seen this?
The last time I did serious Mule-UCS work, I seem to remember occasional
circular list errors that silently went away as a consequence of fixing
other problems. (Note that while 21.5 can compile Mule-UCS, it shouldn’t
ever run it; maybe this is part of your problem, it’s possible that files
are being loaded uncompiled that shouldn’t be.) Recent changes to XEmacs
core of mine *reduced* the number of contexts where circular list errors are
signalled, so I would be surprised if they led to your problem.
Can you paste the full backtrace somewhere?
