Hmm. It might be a good idea if you add (setq mail-host-address "syr.edu")

Did you use a release tag on your update command?
Don't do that. A simple `cvs update hack-package-index.el' in the
top-level directory will fetch the correct file. I believe that
Jareth needs to add this to the glue module.
