This is a known problem. The host doesn't seem to be terribly
interested in fixing it. I recommend just using a mirror if you can't
use active FTP.
All of this wouldn't be much of a problem -- I could still access
the
files by http -- except that package installation doesn't support
that.
We really should fix that. Patches welcome.
