Except that it didn't seem to help for you.
True, but as you said in an earlier message maybe it is negotiating
with my x server (exceed). Perhaps other x servers would act
differently. IWBN if there was a definitive answer, but that requires
a level of understanding that I don't have. Heck, I can barely keep
track of my own installation.
