Now I understand what you mean this is not quite correct. Tabs are context
sensitive. I.e. by default you will only see other tabs that relate to the
buffer you are currently in. Thus when in a gnus type buffer you should
only see gnus tabs, in an elisp buffer you should only see elisp tabs. You
can change this behaviour by setting buffers-tab-selection-function to nil.
Then you will always get all tabs for all buffers regardless of context (up
to the max tabs allowed).
In the *Group* buffer I saw only one button named `*sent wide reply to
Ge...'. I entered my xemacs-beta group and saw a single button named
`*sent wide reply to Ja...'. I am now in a message buffer with a
single button named `*sent wide reply to St...'.
This sounds like a bug. buffers-tab-grouping-regexp groups buffer mode
names together and currently has:
"^\\(gnus-\\|message-mode\\|mime/viewer-mode\\)"
So you should see all of the above buffers in a group. If ^L fixes things
then it may be a redisplay problem.
