If so, although my patch to mule-category.el and/or mule-cmds.el
improves Japanese environment partially, it breaks the latin
environments. Since it doesn't fix Japanese environment
completely, I don't have regret in throwing it away (probably
other Japanese will agree). I ask the XEmacs maintainers to
apply the reverse patch which has been archived in:

I finally found time to try the reverse patch and it does indeed fix the
problems for us Latin-x users, so I'd vote for applying it to 21.5.
