If you add the autoload back in, does that fix the build? (I see that eshell-mode is autoloaded, and refers to eshell-directory-name. It is referred to from ecb-eshell.el. Perhaps that is the problem?)

Also, if you are thinking about a new sumo, could you hold off for another day or two? I think I just about have a solution to dealing with various encodings of texinfo files when generating HTML.
