smtpmail

This bug report will be sent to the XEmacs Development Team, not to your local site managers!! Please write in English, because the XEmacs maintainers do not have translators to read other languages for them. In XEmacs 21.2 (beta27) "Hera" [Lucid] (i686-pc-linux, Mule) of Fri Feb 4 2000 on trinity configured using `configure --without-dialogs --with-athena=3d --with-mule' Please describe exactly what actions triggered the bug and the precise symptoms of the bug: I recently upgraded my mail-lib package, and using the customisation option ; '(message-send-mail-function (quote smtpmail-send-it)) Seems to stop sending mail/messages from working. The smtp session just seems to hang. On the version of xemacs with mule, nothing happens until I manually quit. On the version without mule the session proceeds until the DATA part, then there is an error in the message bar saying something about using <CR><LF>.<CR><LF> to end data. If I use the default for mail or gnus (which I suspect is sendmail and I use ssmtp to forward) everything works well and I can send messages. If I uncomment the smtpmail-send-it line above, then everything stops working. Anyone know anything about it? Recent keystrokes: t e a d .
