This is one of the problems that all Emacsen face; everything's
open
so people do write code that depends on these arbitrary details.
(Stefan's having an discussion with Juanma about this on emacs-devel
in just the last couple of days.)
Right. I don't know what to do. Debugging is cumbersome....
