I will make a diff (this time a unified diff) against 21.2.8 but I
*REALLY* think we should get this into 21.0 and any future releases
so that people get used to the idea.
It is too late for 21.0. The risk of destabilizing the release
outweighs other considerations at this point. The need for
feature freezing releases is the main reason why the source tree
is forked into two branches. Please do roll the patch for the
21.2 branch.
