Hi Simon,
Unfortunately, elp.el is one of those Lisp packages that I simply
don't have time to maintain any more. I'm glad the file retains my
attribution as author though, along with the history and motivation of
the code, and that's enough for me.
I think making the FSF -- and possibly including the XEmacs team --
the official maintainer is the right thing to do (and yes, the contact
address of tools-help(a)python.org should probably be removed).
FWIW, I'm firmly in the "textual" not "textural" camp. :)
